My pampering stay at one of Taipei city’s newest hotel – the exquisitely designed Mandarin Oriental Taipei has permanently spoil me for all my future travels accommodations. Ideally located in the heart of the city on Dunhua North Road and just a short 15 minute car journey from Taipei business district, Taipei 101 and other key city attractions, the beautiful European-inspired architecture of Mandarin Oriental facade, elegant interiors and sincere warm hospitality are not the factors that wowed me. Mandarin Oriental, Taipei also features a selection of diverse restaurants and bars. Follow me as we experience Mandarin Oriental’s renowned legendary service and cuisine excellence.
The hotel showcases innovative concepts and superlative cuisine in stylish and sophisticated settings, designed to elevate the city’s dining and entertainment scene. With six dining venues, including a tea lounge, Mandarin Oriental signature Cake Shop, an exciting cocktail destination and three restaurants designed by Tony Chi — the internationally acclaimed designer – you will be spoilt for choice.
French Brasserie
Embodying the spirit of a traditional brasserie, the French Brasserie welcomes you to a unique setting, with an area called Sweet Boutique for coffee and pastries, a Salon for small plates and a contemporary Brasserie for main dining, serving beautifully crafted French Brasserie cuisine, along with a selection of classic Asian dishes.
All hotel guests are served a luxurious ala carte breakfast here.
They have a good spread of Omelette and Egg Benedict for those who desire Western Breakfast as well as Assorted Dim Sum and Taiwanese Pancake for the Asian palate. I wasn’t particularly impressed with their dim sum and Taiwanese Pancake.
But the Congee was awe-inspiring! With 5 whole abalones in a bowl of porridge, why would I want to order anything else? I am definitely going for a second helping.
After our hearty breakfast, we explore PAGES, a library for exclusive luxury publications housed within the brasserie
and FUEGUIA 1833, a high-end Argentina Perfumery.
Ya Ge
Ya Ge is an elegant Cantonese restaurant that focus on using locally-grown produce in its carefully crafted menu. The restaurant also offers a selection of traditional dim sum delicacies, wines and fine teas.
In addition to the main dining room, Ya Ge offers a unique selection of intimate private bars, perfect for pre and post drinks, together with nine elegant private dining rooms, the largest of which can accommodate up to 20 guests.

Overseen by Michelin-starred Italian chef Mario Cittadini, Bencotto embodies a rustic elegance with a warm, relaxed atmosphere. Prepared in an open kitchen, the chefs use only the freshest ingredients to prepare authentic cuisine using organic, seasonal produce whenever possible.
Accompanying the enticing menu is a wide range of award-winning wines and spirits and non-alcoholic drinks. There is also a Chef’s Table and a private dining room seating up to 50 guests.
M.O. Bar
With inspiration taken from the Art Deco movement of the 1920s, M.O. Bar is destined to become one of Taipei’s most exciting new venues. Beautifully designed with a central island bar and a variety of intimate seating areas, the bar offers a selection of expertly crafted cocktails, fine champagnes and excellent wines. A selection of light dishes is also offered in the evening. Additionally, M.O. Bar offers two private rooms available for private parties and events.
