This holiday season, you will be able to enjoy a new attraction – Time Capsule at the Singapore Flyer. Singapore Flyer Time Capsule is an immersive and multisensory attraction offering you and your loved ones the opportunity to rediscover the Singapore Story. Spanning across two levels, the Time Capsule is a complementary addition to the Singapore Flyer. It draws on the concept of time travel taking you through a journey through Singapore’s 700-year history.
Singapore Flyer Time Capsule – A Complete Singapore Story
Upon entry, be greeted by R65 – a time-travelling robot – tasked with the mission of watching over Singapore and its memories. Through the mascot’s memory orbs, catch a glimpse of Singapore’s history and milestones. Next, embark on your own time travelling adventure starting from the day Sang Nila Utama spotted the legendary lion.
Learn about the events, such as the signing of the 1819 treaty and Jackson Town Plan, that have transformed Singapore from a small idyllic island to the bustling global metropolis it is today. Witness the changing Singapore skyline through a sweeping panorama of historical and contemporary footages from the nation’s pre-independence years, its early days of nation-building, to modern-day Singapore.
Head on to level two and enjoy the immersive visual experience. Watch how Singapore transformed from a fishing village to a world-renowned international city. Leave the Time Capsule with a deeper appreciation of Singapore’s storied past and bold aspirations as you proceed onto the Singapore Flyer.
“The immersive journey through the Time Capsule will be a timely reminder to all who visit that Singapore was always prepared, and this foresight has resulted in the beautiful country we live in today,” said Ringo Leung, General Manager of Singapore Flyer. “We hope that a trip to Time Capsule will offer guests a meaningful way to spend time together and provide a glimmer of hope that the nation will tide through these challenging times for our future generations.”
Singapore Flyer Time Capsule – Covid-19 Measures
To ensure ample space for safe distancing measures, the Time Capsule will be operating at a reduced capacity. You are strongly encouraged to secure tickets online and pre-select their preferred date prior to making a trip down. On-ground staff will also remind you to observe safe distancing measures.
As part of Singapore Flyer’s stepped-up precautionary measures, Singapore Flyer has also put in place:
- Mandatory temperature screening for guests and staff
- Provision of hand sanitisers around the premises
- Capsules are disinfected after each group disembarks
- High-touch areas are disinfected throughout the day
“In this challenging year, the opening of the Time Capsule at the Singapore Flyer reflects the resilience of the tourism sector. We are heartened that our attractions continue to rejuvenate their offerings with new and innovative concepts to enhance their appeal to both locals and visitors. We encourage Singaporeans to continue to rediscover our city through such experiences, and support our tourism businesses during this period,” said Mr Keith Tan, Chief Executive, Singapore Tourism Board.
