They say that truth is stranger than fiction. And this weeks FINALE to our webseries of 7th month Hungry Ghost Festival short films – The Other Wide is proof positive of this.
Everyone has heard of ghost stories from friends. Normally it begins with ” my friend’s friend told me…” But this particular story came about from the person himself. We weren’t separated by various degrees of friends. It was direct from the horse’s mouth. Without much exaggeration or superfluous details added in.
My friend would often recount to us a strange incident that occurred to him while he was at the bridal shop with his wife testing our bridal gowns. Always raising goosebumps as we listened intently to him. Although ,certain bits have been adapted to form a cohesive story, the main points are all there. What you see, is what had happened in real life. And who better to portray the protagonist of the story than the person that it happened to?
So, sit back and enjoy the video. Personally, it has been a interesting journey putting these short stories together for your viewing pleasure. It has taught us many things along the way. With a few unforgettable experiences during filming..(it isn’t just the living that is intrigued by a filmset)….
