Hong Kong Disneyland Resort celebrates its momentous 10th Anniversary with enchanting “Happily Ever After” moments. They will be bringing more Disney stories to life with a grand musical show featuring sensational musical performances by its charming Disney stars, magical staging and extraordinary dance routines. You also get to savour culinary delights such as 10th Anniversary themed specials and the park’s signature character Dim Sum as part of the festivities. Here’s our 8 reasons why you and your loved ones must celebrate Hong Kong Disneyland 10th Anniversary this Christmas!
1. Journey Through A Live Magical Book
Immerse yourself in “Mickey and the Wondrous Book”, a live musical show and the largest-ever production. The 28-minute modern classic show, opening at Disney’s Storybook Theater celebrates seven beloved Disney stories, with Mickey and Goofy leading guests through the magical journey with the turn of every page.
“The entire show is filled with rich and quality theatrical elements that are blended into a live performance with 70 world-class performers and a production team of 10 different nationalities,” said David Lightbody, Director, Entertainment & Costuming, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. “We have been rehearsing for eight weeks on this musical which features the resort’s 10th Anniversary theme song, “Happily Ever After”.
It was rehearsed along with dynamic theater performances, rearranged classical musical scores under a 63-piece orchestra and 23 original costume designs. With the grandest staging and dedicated a crew of 200 cast members, the guests can expect a world-class performance and an unforgettable theatrical experience!”
2. Brilliant castle projection adds magic to the fireworks show
When night falls, the skies will light up with the newly enhanced “Disney in the Stars” Fireworks, made even more dazzling by cutting-edge technology, stunning lighting effects, and state-of-the-art video projection shown at the Sleeping Beauty Castle. Presenting a sterling new cast of 49 beloved Disney friends, the show includes 16 newly added characters such as Joy and Sadness from “Inside Out,” Nemo and Dory from “Finding Nemo,” and the new upcoming release “Finding Dory,” Hiro and Baymax from “Big Hero Six” and Lightning McQueen from “Cars.” Seamlessly choreographed with stunning fireworks, the illuminated spectacle charms the guests and makes it a perfect finale for a magical day at the park.
“The ‘Disney in the Stars’ Fireworks have been capturing the imagination of our guests since day one. With the new projection elements, the Sleeping Beauty Castle is brought to life with a sophisticated mapping technology that adds a whole new world of color, beauty and radiance to what is already a well-loved show,” added Mr. Lightbody.
3. Fairy Tale Forest (Presented by PANDORA) – recreates fairy tale scenes
Come December 17, guests will be able to take a walk through the enchanting “Fairy Tale Forest” at Fantasyland. Along with Tinker Bell, guests can step into the fairy-sized world of Pixie Hollow and journey through oversized topiary mushrooms and clovers while re-living the iconic scenes from five of Disney’s classic Princess stories – Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “Cinderella,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “Tangled.”
“Since its conceptualization, we have spent over two years to build the ‘Fairy Tale Forest’,” said Kelly Willis, Director of Creative Development and Show Quality, Walt Disney Imagineering. “It is an intricately designed maze set in a beautiful garden, presenting charming scenes and music from five cherished fairytales. This whimsical new attraction is bound to give guests more opportunities to create magical memories.”
4. Christmas comes early with “Frozen” Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
This season, thanks to the two sisters, Queen Elsa and Princess Anna, Hong Kong Disneyland will glow and glimmer, in magical brilliance, like never before! Main Street, U.S.A. is majestically festive when Queen Elsa uses her magical power to light up the Christmas tree and the star on top, while both sides around it will show spectacular projections.
5. Snap unforgettable moments with Mickey and friends
Join Mickey, Minnie, Duffy, ShellieMay and all their friends as they celebrate Hong Kong Disneyland’s milestone anniversary in their festive anniversary best. A full cast ready to capture cherished moments with all guests, will parade past the shimmering 10th Anniversary Medallion decorating Main Street, U.S.A. and the “Happily Ever After” Storybook staged in front of Cinderella Carousel.
During this momentous year, new Disney characters will be making their debut and greeting our guests, starting with Lotso who will arrive at Toy Story Land from November 17, Stormtroopers from “Star Wars” from December 17 and with Baymax joining in February 2016. And also gracing the park next Spring is Princess Sofia from “Sofia the First”.
6. 10th Anniversary mementoes and sumptuous feasts for everyone
Reminisce moments of Hong Kong Disneyland’s past 10 years with over 220 new special edition merchandises, including the “Count Down to 10th” and “Grand Celebration” assortments and “Castle Skyline” collections. Ranging from limited edition pins to unique accessories co-branded with some renowned lifestyle brands, including Coca Cola, Crabtree & Evelyn, Dooney & Burke, and PANDORA – there is definitely a little something for everyone to take home as a memento!
Along with the 10th Anniversary extravaganza, embark on a journey of masterful taste with a line-up of 60 new irresistible dishes and beverages to whet your appetites. For an oriental delight, savor Chinese fine dining specialties, such as the delicately crafted exclusive Disney character Dim Sum at the award-winning restaurant Crystal Lotus, which the contestants of MasterChef Asia on StarHub TV Channel 514 were featured in a recent episode of the show. Guests with an international palate can also indulge in a sumptuous buffet where you can also meet your favorite Disney characters at Enchanted Garden. Be it a family affair, romantic rendezvous, or a quick snack, guests will be spoilt for choices and can always expect a tasty gourmet treat.
In addition and in time for the premiere of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” a large collection of more than 90 Star Wars memorabilia, including merchandise, food and beverage will also be available in theme park stores.
7. Free Wi-Fi coverage
From November 17, connection woes would disappear as guests gets free Wi-Fi coverage around the park and can instantly share their “Happily Ever After” moments online .Wi-Fi hotspots will be located in all shops, restaurants, along the parade route, at the park entrance. No password is required for connection.

The anniversary attractions are unveiled in full force this Christmas.
