Arossa Wine & Grill Bar – Lovers Sanctuary On Scotts Road Singapore

Smack right in the heart of Orchard Road, The Arossa Wine & Grill Bar exudes an inviting Old World charm with its lovely redbrick tavern exterior. Helmed by Chef Chiaki Watanabe, the restaurant is famed for her grilling techniques and the freshest of grills sourced from Australia and New Zealand. I was introduced to the restaurant by Classic Far Card and the PALATE, 2 of the free membership programmes offered by my brand new American Express Platinum Credit Card. Of course, the 35% discount off total bill for 3 diners proved to be a very attractive draw.

While being guided to our table, we came to realise that we have stumbled upon a lovers haunt! This place is swamped with couples enjoying romantic weekend dining together. Thankfully, we were given a rather out of sight corner table.

After our orders were taken, warm bread was served promptly.

Our table enjoyed a clear view of the Orchard Road.

This place is a hidden gem – a rare quiet sanctuary from the buzzing shopping belt.

Our helpful waiter also suggested pairing of wines to complement our dishes.

First to be served was Terrine De Foie Gras (S$24). Served with homemade fig jam & pickles, the Foie Gras Terrine offered a decent taste and texture. But we still preferred the good old Foie Gras without treatment.

Molluschi Al Vapore (S$26) comprising of asari clams, oysters and blue mussels steamed in white wine with garlic and parsley wasn’t sufficient to satisfy our lust for fresh molluscs. Larger servings please!

Costa Di Bue 250GM (S$64) was pure pleasure for meat lovers. Grilled tender U.S.D.A Prime Ribeye 100% Grain Fed served with red wine sauce… need we say more?

My personal favourite however was Grigliata Di Frutti Di Mare (S$88).

Made to serve 2, the  seafood platter presented perfectly grilled Hokkaido scallop, king prawn and the catch of the day with ravigote sauce.

The scallops were flavourful and retained much of its moisture. Each bite on the tender white flesh of the fish was heavenly. Damn, this is a die die must try!

Although the Terrine De Foie Gras & Molluschi Al Vapore failed to impress, the Grigliata Di Frutti Di Mare & Costa Di Bue more than compensated with its stunning presentation and delectable performance.
