Gardens By The Bay Christmas Wonderland 2017 – New Carnival Attractions

For the first time, you and your loved ones can skate under the stars at the fair’s first-ever outdoor skating rink at The Meadow at Gardens by the Bay. Specially brought in from Switzerland, the 240sqm outdoor synthetic skating rink is Singapore’s biggest and will be framed by stunning luminarie light sculptures, providing the backdrop for one-of-a-kind Instagram-worthy pictures.

The rhythms of Africa arrive at Christmas Wonderland for the Asian premiere of an irresistible, jaw-dropping circus spectacular. The highly-acclaimed Circus Abyssinia – dubbed “pure circus gold” by The Scotsman and praised as “an incredible spectacle of circus” by Broadway Baby – was a sell-out, smash hit of this year’s Edinburgh Festival. Circus Abyssinia Present Ethiopian Dreams promises to enthral with a mix of gravity-defying stunts, astounding skills and enchanting adventure. Circus Abyssinia Present Ethiopian Dreams will be performed at The Meadow on Tuesdays to Sundays and on Christmas Day.

Step into one of Asia’s largest Santa’s Grotto, where kids and the young-at-heart can meet Santa Claus. The free attraction, open to all ticketholders, boasts flying life-sized reindeers amid a starry nightscape, photo installations, an Alpine House decked in pinewood, a sledge and photo opportunities with Santa Claus. All Santa’s Grotto visitors will receive a lucky draw ticket, with over 100 prizes given away daily. Prizes include free carnival rides and games, Circus Abyssinia tickets as well as food and beverage vouchers. All lucky draw ticketholders will stand a chance to win a Grand Prize of a trip for two to Lapland, Finland.

This year, you and your loved ones will also see an enhanced and expanded dining experience with the addition of SAVOUR: Christmas Wonderland. This special edition will feature celebrity chefs from award-winning restaurants such as Shoukouwa (2 Michelin Stars), Saint Pierre (1 Michelin Star) and Monti at Fullerton Pavilion offering dishes starting from as low as S$6. Gourmet food and wine lovers can also sample wines from around the world by at a specially-curated Wine Market.

Gardens By The Bay Christmas Wonderland 2017 – Traditional Favourites Return Bigger & Brighter

Back with brand new designs, the magnificent luminarie sculptures of light handcrafted from Italy will once again transform the fairground into a luminous wonderland. 252,000 multi-hued bulbs will light up over 70 luminarie sculptures, featuring the perennial favourite, the Spalliera – Southeast Asia’s tallest luminarie as well as for the first time a 13m- tall Christmas ‘tree’.

The Spalliera will continue to host the hugely- popular Blizzard Time, where you and your loved ones can experience ‘snow’ in the tropics daily. The Blizzard Time has been increased from three to five sessions daily to cater to overwhelming demand. You can also relax at the lawn as melodious choral performers belt out Christmas carols at the Cassa Armonica.

With twice the number of carnival rides – the most at Christmas Wonderland – there are even more reasons for families with young children to play to their hearts’ content. Eight carnival attractions await little ones with traditional favourites such as a carousel, ferris wheel, bumper cars, teacups and a Christmas train within the fairground.

The traditional carnival games return where you can step right up to pit their skills at any of the 11 stalls, including Ring Toss, Pyramid Smash, Lobster Pot and Milk Can Toss.

You can also dine and shop for unique trinkets at the European-style Festive Market at the Supertree Grove. Vendors include BOLD & CRAFT, The Raclette Factory and Propupstore. The Supertree Grove is also home to a special edition of Garden Rhapsody, where you can sing along to popular festive tunes and be charmed by the delightful light show at the Supertrees.

This Christmas season, the Flower Dome will showcase the Poinsettia Wishes Floral Display from 10 November 2017 to 8 January 2018. You will get to experience Nordic yuletide elements and enjoy plants of the season like poinsettias, amaryllis and Christmas trees.
