Just when I thought that I had enjoyed the best of cruises on Royal Caribbean International Legend Of The Seas, Mariner Of The Seas pushed my experience to yet another level! This latest 15 deck cruise ship that serves the Asia Pacific region is double the size of Legend and packed twice the fun! I can’t wait to show you what’s new on board!
1. Quality Cabins With Breathtaking Views
If you are coming onboard Mariner Of The Seas, I suggest you should either go for the sea facing balcony cabins or the ones with a clear view of the Royal Promenade.
I adore waking up to breakfast that’s served right to my cabin with no additional charges. Yup, it’s all part of exceptional room service.
And enjoy a cosy breakfast right while watching the sun rise up from the horizon. That’s what I call a #royalwow!
The cabins that face the Royal Promenade were not too bad either. Their strategic view of the main shopping street offers an excellent view of performances and activities happening right below them.
2. Dip Yourself Silly With 10 Pools & Whirlpools
Yes, you have heard it right. Your entire family can spend glorious hours basking under the sun at either the main pool deck where all the buzz are.
Or enjoy a more discreet soak at the solarium.
3. Shopping Street Within A Ship? Unbelievable!
Compared to the small shopping arcade on Legend Of The Seas, the Royal Promenade on Mariner Of The Seas is a full length shopping street where we get to leisurely stroll and browse through branded bags (Coach included), beauty products, watches, cameras, jewellery right down to your personal care items, toiletries and more.
You can also choose to enjoy a cup of hot beverage alfresco style and people watch along the main promenade walkway.
Shoppers are also entertained by scheduled street performances daily.
4. Put On Your Ice Skates & Take A Spin!
If you are into ice skating, Royal Caribbean has it all planned out for you. Skates are available free of charge at Studio B Ice Rink for you to show off your skills.
Studio B is also the venue for Ice Under The Big Top performance starring Royal Caribbean International Ice Cast and special guest star Sarah Yvonne Prytula. It’s circus madness meet amazing acrobatic stunts, you are bound to love it!
5. Experience DreamWorks® Onboard The Ship
Theme parks aren’t the only places to meet your favourite animation characters. Thrill your kids with DreamWorks® Experience onboard Royal Caribbean! You can your family members get to meet Shrek, Fiona, Po (Kung Fu Panda®) and more of the lovable and popular DreamWorks Animation®characters live and in person over breakfast!
In between nibbles, the whole family will be full of giggles as the characters stop by your table for some playful shenanigans. Seats are limited. Make sure you book your DreamWorks® Breakfast once you board the ship.
6. World Class Performances Every Night
Mariner Of The Seas Savory Theatre offers 2 sessions of performances every night for main and 2nd dinner seating dinners. We made it a point to catch all the performances. I am particularly impressed by the voice and juggle skills of David DiMuzio, a multi-talented Youtube Sensation.
Check out his Youtube video below:
7. Ode To Art
Do you know that Mariner Of The Seas is also a floating art museum? Sip complimentary champagne as you make your purchase decision for ‘See Art At Sea’ Program. This is a rare opportunity to collect fine art at 60% below land gallery prices. All works are shipped directly to your preferred address in beautiful brand new frames.
8. Eat Round The Clock …. burp..
My appetite onboard the ship surprises me, my stomach was literally a bottomless pit. We can have breakfast at 8am, lunch at 12pm, afternoon tea at 3pm, dinner at 6pm and supper after performances at 10pm. Food just kept taunting me to take a bite….
Well, there’s no escape with dining options everywhere onboard Mariner Of The Seas. We have the Main Dining Room with complimentary, multi-course dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I love the wide choice of sweet endings!
More complimentary options including Windjammer Café, Jade Sushi and Asian-fusion cuisine, Café Promenade for coffee and pastries/snacks, and of course Room Service.
But if you are looking at a more exclusive (romantic) dining experience, go for Chops Grills Steakhouse and Giovanni’s Table Italian Restaurant, where for one low cover charge you can choose any items off the menu from appetizer to dessert.
Here’s toast to great food!
9. Time To Sweat It Out At The Great Outdoors
After all that eating, our good folks onboard Mariner Of The Seas have an excellence action and adventure facilities on its top deck.
There’s a rock-climbing wall, mini-golf course, basketball court as well as jogging and in-line skating tracks for you and your family to burn off those excess calories.
10. Land Ahoy At Your Destination Port
Another fun part of going on Royal Caribbean Cruises is that you can choose to disembark without a hassle at any of your destination ports. Of course, you also have the option to stay onboard the ship to enjoy all its attractive offerings. Royal Caribbean offers a wide variety of shore excursions for our selection.
For our trip to Kuala Lumpur, I would have opted for the exotic Batu Caves. But Mom got pretty traumatised by our recent trekking on Jeju island, she was determined not to do anymore strenuous climbing. So we went for a more relaxed, free & easy tour of Kuala Lumpur heritage trail
as well as the shopping places like Petaling Street, Central Market & Lot 10. The tour guide was fun, informative and took care of us really well.
11. Pamper Yourself Silly!
For the busy executives who do not have the time for beauty services, Royal Caribbean’s full-service Vitality Spa features a luxurious lineup of signature treatments, massages, medi-spa services and salon to make you glow from the inside out.
I am personally really impressed with their Go SMiLE Tooth Whitening service. For a very affordable price, you can now brighten your smile and light up your entire face with a safe and painless advance procedure found onboard.
So shall we start with the hair first?
12. Plan Your Wedding Onboard Or Get Married Right Away!
Last but not least, Royal Caribbean Mariner Of The Seas Skylight Chapel located on top of the Viking Crown Lounge (the highest point on the ship) is the perfect place to say “I do.”
It’s going to be an amazing wedding with you being the star if you can convince all your friends and relatives to come onboard for a few days of feasting and celebrations.
Royal Caribbean Mariner Of The Seas more than proved itself that size does matters when it comes to enjoying an unforgettable cruise holiday.
