We hope you had your fill of the 3 legendary birds – Articuno, Moltres & Zapdos because they probably would not be back for a while. In their place, 3 legendary dogs from the Johto region – Pokemon Go Raikou, Entei & Suicune will be made available to all aspiring trainers and each in a specific part of the world for a limited time only. We are here to spill the beans and share all you need to know about these 3 amazing beasts.
Introducing Pokemon Go Raikou, Entei & Suicune
The Electric-type Raikou is now set free in the wild in the Americas, the Fire-type Entei is in Europe and Africa, and the Water-type Suicune is in the Asia-Pacific region. They’ll remain here until September 30, giving you a full month to ensure you get your hands on one.
So We Will Never Get To Catch Them All?
Fret not. These legendary dogs will move to a new location from September 30 until October 31, before moving to their final region on October 31. This should give everyone a chance to catch each of the three over the next three months.
Pokemon Go Raikou & Entei Weakness
Entei is a fire type Pokemon. This means that you should counter it with Golems, Omastars and Vaporeons.
Raikou is an electric Pokemon hence it can be taken down by the likes of Rhydon, Golem, Donphan and Sandslash.
How To Defeat Suicune
This Legendary Beast is part of the Water Type Pokemon, with 2823 Max CP, 180 Attack, 235 Defense and 200 Stamina. As a Water Type, Suicune is weak against Electric and Grass Type, but strong against Fire, Ice, Steel and Water Type. Hence trainers should use Zapdos, Exeggutor and Venusaur to take it down.
If you don’t have any of the above mentioned Pokemon, don’t worry, you can always use other Pokemon that can be very effective against Suicune, but only when in bigger Raid groups:
- Magneton – Thunder Shock/Zap Cannon
- Ivysaur – Vine Whip/Solar Beam
- Elekid – Thunder Shock/Discharge
Suicune’s defence stats are similar to Articuno, no x 2 weakness and without super effective charge moves against its main counters. Suicune should be able to be defeated by 7 Trainers or 4 Pro Trainers.
Be Prepared For Mewtwo
While you get excited by the 3 legendary dogs – Raikou, Entei & Suicune, let’s not forget that one of the most powerful Pokemon – Mewtwo will be joining the game soon too! Unlike the previous legendary Pokemon, Mewtwo will only be available in Exclusive Raid Battles. They are pretty similar to existing Raid Battles but trainers must be invited. Gen 3 Pokemon & Super Incubator Coming Soon
Data miners for Pokemon Go has recently discovered file names for 135 Gen 3 Pokemon. While this suggests Gen 3 Pokemon will be added to the game soon, the files weren’t accompanied by sound and move sets yet.
Besides discovering Gen 3 Pokemon in the game files, fans have also found evidence of a Super Incubator that may probably allow trainers to hatch eggs at a much faster rate. Let’s wait and see!
