Seasonal Tastes at The Westin Singapore is a dining option to bring your friends and family for a personalised culinary experience. That’s Mom happily sipping her drink in the comfy, welcoming armchair of the hotel lobby.
Once we arrived, one of the friendly service staff got us nicely settled at a window seat and started our gourmet discovery experience! Ladies would usually start with something light but Mom has set her eyes on the real gem of the buffet.
The free flow of fresh lobsters! Such a rare sight in the local buffet scene so it is not that hard to imagine the absolute thrill of placing a whole lobster on your dining plate.
Of course, there are also the usual oysters, prawns and clams. It’s a seafood paradise!
After a few helpings of the cold dishes, we sank our teeth into the moist, succulent flesh of a perfect roasted salmon. I swear I could feel the morsel melt away in my mouth.
Other than the freshest selection of seafood, we also indulged in specialty dishes by chefs of different culinary backgrounds. The crunchy and extremely addictive Gobhi Pakora (Deep Fried Cauliflower) was one of our favourites from the Indian cuisine section.
The Roasted Lamb Leg With Caponata was a delight not only to our eyes but also our taste buds. Soft, tender lamb soaked in flavorful caponata that was good enough to dip your bread in for starters.
Cooked Pasta With Chicken was a colourful sight to behold and a great treat for pasta-lovers, but hold the carbs if you want to sample the rest of the delicacies.
A delicious, must-have staple – Truffle with Mashed Potatoes. Kudos to the team for this tasty inclusion, we do appreciate the strong taste of truffles.
Behold! These are not the usual sausages you get in the supermarket. The culinary folks from Seasonal Tastes have their own sausage making machines which saw the creation of exotic sausages such as these Mexican Poblano Sausages. It has a slightly drier texture but compensated by a strong scent and taste of herbs and spices.
That’s Chef Kenny Fong personally craving up the sausages for our plates. He and his team of chefs are the heroes behind the delicious spread at Seasonal Tastes. If you love sausages and would like to make your own at home, you may want to check out some of the best sausage stuffers.
If Asian fares are your kind of thing, you have got to make a beeline for their amazing Laksa. Nevermind the fresh ingredients, the thick, flavourful gravy will have you back for a second helping!
Savour Bulgogi – Korean Style Fried Beef,
Red Curry Chicken and many other yummilicious Asian delicacies all in one place.
We ended off our satisfying dinner with a mouthwatering dessert selection including an assortment of cakes, tartlets, authentic Italian gelato, sorbet and fluffy marshmallows and fruits dipped in fondue. In addition, you can also look forward to a selection of nutritious SuperFoodsRxTM dishes on the buffet line with a selection of tempting items which are antioxidant-rich and naturally low in calories.
If you are still keen for drinks after dinner, the bar is waiting just next door.
Rubbing our tummies at the end of the evening, Mom and I concluded that we loved this value for money dinner buffet! Scenery and wide variety of delicacies aside, the freeflow of fresh lobsters would have given you your bang for the buck!
