We were thrilled to have the chance to be part of SO Sofitel Singapore 1927 official opening on 30 August 2018. 1927 is a destination rooftop cocktail bar and pool housed at the rooftop of the hotel’s iconic neo-classical building (which coincidentally was also built in 1927). Designed to showcase the cosmopolitan character and tropical essence of Singapore, the new bar introduces an exclusive specially curated collection of contemporary equatorial cocktails.

SO Sofitel Singapore 1927  – Bespoke Cocktails Made To Perfection

Inspired by tropical Singapore and the rich history of its heritage-listed building, 1927 blends old-world recipes with modern mixology techniques and creatively introduced local ingredients to offer a contemporary touch to yesteryear favourites. The menu reflects the evolution of the tropical cocktail since the ‘Golden Era’ of the 1920s and 1930s and is categorised into three broad collections: Equatorial Classics (1930s-50s), Contemporary Classics (late 1990s-2000s) and Contemporary Equatorial (house signatures). These bespoke cocktails are definite crowd-pleasers. 

Traditional recipes in the Equatorial Classic and Contemporary Classic collections are re-engineered with contemporary flair, while the Contemporary Equatorial collection, exclusive to 1927, is crafted with fine spirits, aromatic house-made bitters, premium liqueurs and sodas. Some of the highlights and favourites include Tiki Time Bomb (S$22),

Beet Me Up Scotty (S$23) and #Hashtag Frosé (S$26). All their cocktails are easy on the eye and makes awesome Instagram props for the ultimate lifestyle shot!

Determined to steer away from the typical bar foods (which are usually not that tasty), 1927 crafted an exquisite menu pairing selection with dishes that are designed to enhance the flavours of the cocktails including Portobello Carpaccio (S$14), Snapper Ceviche ($15) and Beef Po’Boy (S$17).

A charismatic rooftop lounge area sporting dashes of tropical chic, 1927 provides custom-made signature sofas and chairs that add elegance, style and comfort for a complete experience of the senses. The poolside bar is further decorated with brightly-coloured cushions with botanical prints and outdoor planters to help you let your hair down after a long day at work or exploring the island.

You can luxuriate on the laid-back loungers awash in sunlight and fabric-swathed cabanas, or take a dip in the refurbished infinity pool that offers city skyline views.

For folks who are seeking an event venue, the patio is also equipped with the latest state-of-the-art technology, including an 8-feet ultra-large screen with projector and modern audio systems.
