Stars Of The West End – Stars Of London’s Best Musicals In One Show!

The British Theatre Playhouse is happy to announce the upcoming production of Stars Of The West End. The show will be presented at One Farrer Hotel & Spa, Grand Ballroom in Singapore on 22 and 23 June 2017. Stars Of The West End bring the four leading stars of the ten most successful musicals in the history of London’s West End so that they can present a collection of songs from THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, LES MISÉRABLES, CATS, CHICAGO, EVITA, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, MAMMA MIA!, MISS SAIGON, WEST SIDE STORY, WICKED, and many more!

The show has toured extensively, playing theatres and other venues across the UK and Europe since 2011. In the UK, highlights include its regular fixture at The Mill at Sonning near Reading, dates at the iconic Fairfield Halls and Alban Arena, and a concert at London’s Cadogan Hall in 2014. It is also worth mentioning its exclusive performance at the Louvre in Paris in 2015, as well as the fact that the leading stars themselves have performed in all corners of the globe! The four leading stars are the following:

1. Mike Sterling

Mike Sterling has played arguably the two most significant male lead roles in London’s West End: The Phantom in THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA and Jean Valjean in LES MISÉRABLES.

2. Shona Lindsay

Shona Lindsay’s credits include Christine in THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, Sandy in GREASE and Kathy Selden in SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN.

3. Tom Solomon

Tom Solomon has not only played principal roles in CHICAGO, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA and LES MISÉRABLES but is a winner of the BBC’s prestigious Voice of Musical Theatre Competition.

4. Jayne O’Mahony

Jayne O’Mahony created the role of young Cosette in LES MISÉRABLES and later returned to play the role of adult Cosette, the only actor ever to have achieved this, as well as appearing in EVITA.

Some of the press quotes include:

‘‘A foot-tapping pleasure… Cadogan Hall has done it again!’’ – Jack Jaffe, Words and Music International

‘‘A celebration of West End musicals with four very talented British musical performers… Top-notch… A classy, truly enjoyable evening that could also be a very good introduction for the musical theatre neophyte!’’ – Musical Theatre Review

STARS OF THE WEST END Art for Charity Gala

The British Theatre Playhouse is a theatre production company based in Singapore with a branch office in London. The Patron of the British Theatre Playhouse in Singapore is the British High Commissioner H.E. Mr Scott Wightman, and in Malaysia is the British High Commissioner H.E. Ms Victoria Treadell. The company has produced many highly successful plays and musicals in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka and the UK, such as Agatha Christie’s THE MOUSETRAP and YES, PRIME MINISTER, as well as it has presented music performances such as SALUTE TO SINATRA and lately LEO SAYER IN CONCERT and LET’S DANCE – PAUL ROBERTS SINGS DAVID BOWIE.

Also, when HRH Princess Anne attended a charity event on 3 November 2016 for two charities of which she is the Patron, ‘The Mission to Seafarers’ and ‘Riding for the Disabled’, Paul Roberts also performed there, after the respective arrangement of the British Theatre Playhouse. Finally, the British Theatre Playhouse itself organises an ‘Art for Charity Gala’ with each show to raise money for a charity. This year the aim is to raise money for ‘Food From The Heart’, which supports 33,000 beneficiaries across Singapore by alleviating hunger through a food distribution programme. For that, this is what Ms Cecilia Leong-Faulkner, the British Theatre Playhouse’s Founder and Managing Director, had to say:

‘‘The aim of the British Theatre Playhouse has always been to bring world class live entertainment shows from London to Singapore and the region, as well as to organise charity events for those who need them the most. It is for this reason that I share my confidence with all of you now that our upcoming show STARS OF THE WEST END is such a first class production, and the related charity gala will raise money for the charity ‘Food from the Heart’. Thus, it would be nice if as many of you as possible could both come to the show and consider the charity gala as well.’’
