Commuters on SBS Transit’s North-East Line (NEL) witnessed two ‘live’ marriage proposals today. AsiaRooms.com, a leading online travel accommodation site in Asia, together with HelpYouMarry, a professional wedding proposal planner and imaging company, helped orchestrate these two memorable events which took place in the “Love Train”–Singapore’s very first romance-themed train scented with a signature Jasmine fragrance.
Cupids were thrown in to set the mood for the two proposals.
Mr Yip Hin Hoe and Mr Raymond Huang surprised their partners with public declarations of their love and asked for their hands in marriage in front of cheering commuters and members of the media.
The timely proposals fall on Valentine’s Day and during AsiaRooms.com’s Love Train campaign.
In a bid to encourage Singaporeans to experience the romance of travel with AsiaRooms.com, the Love Train campaign was launched as an effort to reconnect with travellers and to promote the leading online travel accommodation site as the people’s first choice for all their travel accommodation needs.
Clarence Lin, Brand Development Lead of AsiaRooms.com, who was present to congratulate the two couples, said, “The concept behind the Love Train campaign was to inspire and reignite the passion for travel with loved ones, so the choice of proposing on the Love Train is apt and timely. We are thrilled that they chose to have AsiaRooms.com be part of this special day with them.”
The two couples, Yip Hin Hoe and Angelene Tan, and Raymond Huang and Lim Jia Hui, share a passion for travel and saw the Love Train as a fitting setting for their romantic and memorable engagements.
Referencing today’s proposals, Lin said, “Every day, AsiaRooms.com plays a part in hundreds and thousands of lives as we are the choice source for accommodation options for travellers around the world, and this Valentine’s Day, we want to show that we can be part of their journey even as they celebrate some of life’s highlights with partners or loved ones. And as part of the couples’ celebrations, AsiaRooms.com is happy to sponsor a romantic getaway for the soon-to-be weds.”
Members of the public are encouraged to take part in AsiaRooms.com’s campaign on its Facebook Fan Pages by sharing their personal love stories on the Love Trails app. Love Trails is the first interactive app on Facebook that allows fans to pin “badges” representing romantic firsts, from “first date” to “first fight” and “first hotel stay” on the Singapore map where these memories were created.
Commuters can look forward to another surprise and unique celebration of love that will take place in the train on the 24th of February 2013.
