Halloween Horror Nights 4 (HNN4) at Universal Studios Singapore has finally begun! Halloween Horror Nights 4 is all set to wow and unleash more terror under the Demoncracy of Minister Jonah Hill. This year, you and your comrades need to survive 4 haunted houses, 4 scare zones, 444 scare actors and 13 nights of horror from 3 October to 1 November 2014!. For the first time ever in Singapore, you will get a chance to experience a 3-D haunted house and a new freak show with international talents for the most immersive horror fright fest ever! Pull yourself together and join me & my brother as we walk through the gates of demoncracy and face your scariest nightmare, come along fast we don’t have the whole night.
Jack’s Nightmare Circus (Pantages Hollywood Theater)
We start our journey at this freak show that featured aerial acrobats, contortionists and other freaky friends, starring Jack the murderous clown.
Jack is conducting a talent audition to find the next stars of his circus. Anyone interested?
First to apply was this athletic young man who wowed the crowd with his aerial acrobatic performance.
He unfortunately did not exactly make the cut in Jack’s eyes. The strong hands of Jack’s minions seized his throat and squeezed the life out of the young lad under the fearful eyes of the audience.
A frightened pair of Italian dancers were up next. They ended up devoured by an unseen beast….
Last to appear was The Great Gordo Gamsby, an extreme stunt specialist and holder of 9 Guinness World Records with the most recent being – most concrete blocks broken on the stomach in one minute with Daniella D’Ville, set in 2014. In Jack’s circus, he took the form of ‘The Animal’.
He has some of the most gross and nerve-wreaking stunts ever… I find some of his scenes extremely painful to watch.
Strategise your time and catch the show at the following time slots: 8pm, 10pm, 12am
Scare Zone 1: Demoncracy (New York)
All hell has broken loose. Literally. The remains of Libertas, the Roman goddess of freedom was scattered all over the demonic streets of New York City.
The earth has been torn asunder by diabolical forces. Venture quietly and avoid the watchful eyes of demons flying over your heads.
Hot, steaming lava and the freakiest fiends of the Underworld are spewing out onto the street!
Attacking at a lightning speed, we watched in horror as it make quick works of real life human just a few metres in front of us! Extremely brutal and realistic, I feel that I am part of a horror movie.
We are not exactly sure if we can trust this dude….
While you may be tempted to stop, gawk and take a we-fie with one of these demons, it may be more prudent to run for your life!
Scare Zone 2: Bogeyman (Sting Alley)
Before you enter the site, an old lady warns of impending doom ahead… proceed at your own risk.
Take a deep breathe before you dive into the sea of laundry. You never know what’s going to pop out!
In this dingy, shadowy playground from hell, be wary of the children you come across! I am so glad she is behind those fences.
Abandoned by their parents and the society, these damned children have given up their souls and long forgotten what it means to be human.
They will do the unholy bidding of the one who dwells in the coldest, darkest depths of every child’s closet: the Bogeyman.
So pray that you do not lose your way within the alley….
This is the much feared Bogeyman? He looked more like a 7th month Getai Singer. Pity that it was such an anti-climax…..
Scare Zone 3: Canyon of the Cursed (Ancient Egypt)
Treasure-hunters in the Wild West had long been lured to a place unmarked on any map, believed to be buried with the gold of the Nevurotibe.
Ignoring warnings of how it was guarded by spirits and protected by an ancient chieftain’s curse, these rapacious men and women rode into the unknown and were never seen again. Until now.
Bounded by the curse to watch over the treasures for eternity, the spirit warriors are a force to reckon with.
Among the Scare Zones, Canyon Of The Cursed is my personal favourite. Not that it is the most frightening zone but I love the artistic touch its creator brought to the theme.
Of course, folks who are in for a good scare would not be disappointed.
Scare Zone 4: Scary Tales (Lost World)
Guarded by 2 terrifying evil beings at its gates, its easy to mount great expectations for what lies ahead.
Unfortunately, this is the scariest it can get.
The Forest of Disenchantment has ensnared many of our favourite fairy tales and twisted them into nightmares, warping familiar characters almost beyond recognition. That’s poor bald Rapunzel crying on top of her tower.
Her poor prince does not look as charming getting wrapped in her golden hair.
Desperate, depraved and dangerous, they will trap you with them if you let your guard down!
Catch the hunted-turned-huntress Red Riding Hood who now command a pack of blood-thirsty werewolves to do her bidding.
That’s our take for Jack’s Nightmare Circus and the 4 Scare Zones, we will be sharing our experience at the 4 Haunted Houses in Universal Studios Singapore Halloween Horror Nights Survival Guide Part 2!
