Taiwan Top Bubble Tea Xing Fu Tang Singapore (幸福堂) Now At Tampines

Taiwan’s highly anticipated bubble tea brand Xing Fu Tang Singapore (幸福堂) will officially open for operation at Century Square, bringing its authentic stir-fried Brown Sugar Boba Milk to fans in Singapore. With over 90 locations in Taiwan, Japan, Canada and Hong Kong, this outlet marks the brand’s first foray into Singapore and is one of the four-store openings in the pipeline over the next six months. This opening also comes on the back of its successful pop-up held at Takashimaya in June 2019, which saw over 1,500 cups sold daily.

Xing Fu Tang Singapore – Introduction To The Realm of Happiness

Xing Fu Tang, which translates to ‘Realm of Happiness’, was founded by Edison Chen in Taiwan in January 2018. The brand name, along with its signature artisanal Brown Sugar Boba Milk drink was inspired by Chen’s grandmother who often used brown sugar as a key ingredient. An elevation of the regular bubble tea drink, the chain’s tapioca pearls are stir-fried in natural raw brown sugar for an extra chewy bite, then topped off with a layer of caramelised brown sugar for a smoky charcoal kick. Its drinks also utilise no preservatives, artificial flavourings or additives.

On Xing Fu Tang’s immense popularity, Mr Chen says “The drinks’ key ingredients such as brown sugar, tapioca starch and tea leaves are not only sourced directly from Taiwan but also freshly prepared daily – made and served in front of customers upon orders. These practices allow us to ensure each cup served meets our high standards of quality.”

Xing Fu Tang Singapore – Quali-tea Offerings That Look As Good As They Taste

For customers who prefer something light and refreshing, Xing Fu Tang’s Mango Smoothie & Rabbit Panna Cotta ($6.90) is a tasty concoction of panna cotta and mango smoothie chock-full of chewy pink pearls. Other signature drinks on the menu include Matcha Boba Milk ($5.90), Soda and Handmade Jelly ($5.30) and Grapefruit Green Tea ($5.90).

Xing Fu Tang Singapore – Surging Demand For Bubble Tea In Asia

Although bubble tea was invented over 30 years ago, demand for the drink shows no sign of slowing down, with more chains spreading through Asia, China, U.K.and the U.S.A. It’s a deep cultural symbol for young people of Asian heritage along with an explosion in variations both contribute to the exponential growth in the popularity of bubble tea, and this phenomenon is evident from the mushrooming of new chains in Singapore over the past decade.

“Singapore is a target market for Xing Fu Tang because of the strong “foodie” culture and high disposable income among locals. Consumers here are always on the hunt for the next best thing and have a greater appreciation for new and exciting dining experiences. It is this exploratory mindset towards food that we hope to tap on so we can successfully capture the hearts of locals.” says Mr Chen.
